Meet Leonardo Neves: Your Instructor at ZoukGuidance
Leonardo Neves, co-founder and director of Brazilian Beatz Dance Academy, brings decades of experience to ZoukGuidance. His dance journey began at just 8 years old in Rio de Janeiro, where he mastered styles like Bolero, Samba, Salsa, and Forró. At 12, Leo trained under Zouk legends Renata and Adilio, performing and competing internationally, including winning 1st place in Rio’s inaugural “Onda Zouk” competition.
By 15, Leo was already teaching and performing with Renata Pecanha, the creator of Brazilian Zouk, across Brazil. His international career blossomed further with partners like Layssa Liebscher and Becky Crystal, with whom he has taught in over 20 countries, from the USA to Australia. Leonardo’s deep expertise spans Brazilian Zouk, Salsa, Bachata, Samba, and more, alongside training in Tap, Ballet, and Contemporary dance.
